A quick programming update...
Hey Ghost Reader(s),
Today, I’m sharing an update that I’ll be taking a few weeks off from publishing so I can continue finding balance amidst transitioning into a new job, additional professional and volunteer commitments, and a busy start to the summer. My plan is to take the next few weeks to assess what’s feasible for Ghost Reader in this current season. As soon as I figure that out, I’ll update everyone here.
In the meantime, here are some of my go-to sources to help with staying informed:
An easy to digest, always interesting daily summary of major events with a historical twist: Letters from an American by author and Boston College history professor Heather Cox Richardson (free on Substack)
For those of you who most enjoy the Human Experience & Rights and Good for the Soul sections: 1440 Daily Digest (free subscription)
If you subscribe to Ghost Reader for the Federal Government Operations section: Federal News Network, Reuters, AP, and The Hill (free access and subscriptions)
The first place I go to begin sourcing due to its wide array of topics, straight to the point reporting, and objective lens: Axios daily newsletters (free subscriptions)
If you’re really into keeping up to date with all things Supreme Court: SCOTUSblog (free subscription) and this Supreme Court tracker
For a starting point on news, politics, and human interest stories: NPR daily newsletters (free subscription)
If you’re looking for investigative journalism that goes beyond the headlines: ProPublica (free newsletter subscriptions)
For a starting point on high-level policy updates: The Brookings Institution, Politico, and Just Security daily newsletters (free subscriptions)
I appreciate the understanding and patience as I navigate this busy (in a good way!) time, and hope to be back in your inbox soon.
Until then, let’s keep doing the little things daily to create clarity in the chaos, in whatever ways that looks like for each of us.
